New to the forum - Hello from Boston

Just wanted to say hello to all my fellow Dominicans. I'm from Boston, born in Santo Domingo en "La 17" and raised mostly up here. There's a large population of Dominicans up here so its not too lonely

I live just north of you, in NH. Tough winter up here. The only thing that gets us through are the trips to the DR and our SOX.

Boston is the city that gave us the big dig

I live 50 miles north of Boston, in Rye, NH, next to Portsmouth, both of which are on NH's short 18-mile coast-line.

The Red Sox are of course New England's team, as are the Patriots, and to some degree the Celtics. The big bad Bruins are all Boston, but their fans are spread out across the globe, including one in Rye.

Maine is about the size of the DR. NH is about the size of Haiti.

One of my neighbors in the DR (Cibao) talks about her folks in "Loren", which means Lawrence, Massachusetts, I guess... That's like a suburb of Boston, I've heard.

A silly remark: "Loren" sounds familiar to me, because the name of my ground school in Oslo, Norway was "Løren" - pronounced "learrn".

Receive a warm welcome from a fellow countryman, Maria. I live in Somerville and returned to the States on Jan 6th after a 7-month stay in Europe. I have been to Lawrence only twice, though. I heard it's the city with the highest concentration of Dominicans in the US.
