Dominican community in Ottawa?

So far, I've just been a lurker around here, but I thought I'd post tonight.

I took a trip to the DR in January and fell in love with the people and the country. I've since been learning spanish from a private tutor, and am getting pretty good - but my comprehension is much better

I would love to meet some dominican friends in my own home town. I'd love to learn more about dominican customs, history and anything else

Is anyone else around the Ottawa area? Maybe we could arrange a big "coffee" meeting!

are you dominican..just came back from there too and am taking a spanish course as we bought a place down there in sosua...love the country am from ottawa

I am not dominican - but I think that allows me to appreciate them that much more! lol

I've never been to sosua, I hear it's beautiful, though... and not too touristy. Mostly long-term visitors, right?
