Butch Kerzner -- an extraordinary person
42 year old Howard “Butch” Kerzner, chief executive officer of Kerzner International Holdings Ltd. died instantly in a helicopter accident on Wednesday, 11 October while surveying potential development sites along the north coast. He is survived by his wife and two children.
He was accompanied by Merrill Lynch vice president Dominican Delio Luis Gonzalez, and local reports indicate he was on his way to survey the Playa Grande area.
Butch Kerzner is best known for developing the 34-acre compound of waterslides, underground aquariums, shark tanks, a 2,300-room hotel and casino, and lots of underwater mythology that is known as Atlantis Resort and became a signature landmark in Bahamas, in Las Vegas and Disney style. He worked closely with his father, Sol Herzner, a South African hotelier who took his resort development business to France and then to Bahamas, with the help of his son.
Kerzner had bought his Atlantis, previously the Paradise Island resort development in Bahamas from Donald Trump and Merv Griffin who had tried to turn Paradise Island -- a wide stretch of beach off Nassau -- into a tropical Atlantic City during the 1980s and '90s. But the resort that would become Atlantis filed for bankruptcy under Griffin, and Sol Kerzner's Sun International Hotels bought it from him in 1994 for $125 million.
The Kerzners succeeded by wrapping the resort in a fictional story-line, creating a fantasy world, or what is described as Disneyland on the beach. The company is described as the second largest employer in the Bahamas.
The late Butch Kerzner was a Standford, California University MBA who worked in acquisitions, mergers and capital raising in Wall Street before joining his father and launching the family business to world class levels.
Underway as part of a global expansion program for the company, was a major Atlantis development in Dubai and London.

I know its pure coincidences, but one does have to wonder why these high profile accidents are occuring lately. Yesterday, in NYC a yankee pitcher was killed in an airplane accident and guess what, yesterday was October 11!!!! Then to have this happen in Santo Domingo as well on the same day?

Ever since the fall of the Eastern European Communist bloc, the blue eyed Mafia have been at war with the old Sicilian families. One of their favorite battlegrounds is the Dominican Republic, where you can easily import and export cash, through casinos and hotels, not to mention easily have any competitor murdered. I guess someone didn't want Atlantis involved in the DR "tourism" scene.

I don't have any knowledge or suggestion of any conspiracy.
I was simply pointing out the coincidences.
The conspiracy theorist par excellences on DR1 was Mirador and he has either been banned by the powers that be or has decided to stop posting on DR1.

Just whats being said on the streets.
Rumors are going around that this was an act of sabotage - why? Well the word is no one wanted Kerzner to buy the land for various reasons... here is one Cap Cana.
