Default DR is getting raped

It might be a little harsh on my part, but it is really the situation. I am not dominican, but I seem to be following the economy more than anybody. Dominicans on this forum seem to be soo preoccupied by illegal haitians working in jobs they qualify as low standard, they don't even see what is really happenning. I read a lot in this forum, i notice a lot of hate towards Haiti, which was supposed to have a relationship like Canada and the US, even if they dont necessarily love each other. I see a lot of hate toward PRicans too, and a lot of ignorant comments. If you want my opinion, Dominican republic is doing wonderful in the development, but terrible in the long run, reason why..most businesses are owned by foreigners, foreigners from around the world come and invest in DR, cause the land there is practically free, the government is happy with their percentage, and give complete freedom to foreigners. I know so many people in Canada, US, even Haiti that came to DR to get their piece of land. Whats really happenning is investors are coming, establish a business , they pay the goverment the tax, the government take care of their well-being, and thats the end of the day. Where are the dominicans in that? If the country is doing so good ( and I heard someone say it was doing better than PR), why do so many people abroad have to send their hard earned money back home. I think there is a misconception that needs to be considered. Right now the people in the country are definitely not benefiting from the riches of this country. Soon it will collapse

Do you even know which members are Dominican?

Thank God for incorrect information...

without that there wouldn't be any information in the OP's posting, at all.

What in the world are you smoking? You have no idea how things work here. Land is not cheap nor houses. First of all I bought a house on the outskirts of Santiago near the country for US115 and I don't even get a paved road. This is far away from the overpriced coast where one could pay three times as miuch for the same house. A comparable house like mine in the southeast US would cost US175,000+/-.

As far as foreigners raping the local economy how do you figure when there are very few free trade zones? Not only that most business that are run by foreigners have to import their goods - and you somehow think thay don't pay taxes.

Junior wake up - you're in the real world now!

Yes it's terrible the amount of foreigners flooding into the DR illegally.

Just last week the Dominican Coast Guard repatriated several boatloads of Americans who were trying to make it over here from Puerto Rico in little fishing boats...Oh no wait that was....

Never Mind.
