Unhappy Colonial city in Santiago

Paint on wood with tumite does not solve the problem of needed repairs. The sidewalks are mostly knee-hi and unlevel one has to find a pole while shopping in the old city. paint is like make-up there is a need for repairs or these building will disappear eaten the subterraniamn turmite. Go and see the building that are open here in Santiago.

Last time we visited Santiago, the historical buildings we saw were in very bad shape. I was elated when I read the article about restoration but subsequently found out that it was just a cosmetic paint job that all the money was spent on. How sad!
