Now here is a classic example of reported press that has a tendency to bring out the indiscriminateness in a lot of people and put the blame on the ‘bad’ DR. Notice the ‘catch phrases’ in the article like ‘illegal immigrants’, ‘citizenship to Haitians’ and ‘denies citizenship to Haitian children’. These ‘catch phrases’ are always ignored in the minds of the modern liberlas in their defense of their proposed circumvention of that which is fact and laid out by the laws.

There are those that have a tendency to place the blame in some of the areas where it truly lies but this is usually followed by those that say ‘yes but’. It is this ‘yes but’ that augments their indiscriminateness in all that is right and just in the eyes of the law. Any deviation from following the proper procedures in changing the laws as written is a form of injustice and evil in the minds of a lot of people including me.

This article, though written in May of 2000, is still true today and pretty well sums up the situation here in the DR. With all these problems being the facts of the matter it should make it evident that the DR is in no position to handle the problems faced by its neighbor Haiti. This article,( recognize the author?), speaks volumes but interesting are the user comments. Here is a report from the area that I live in if you by some chance need further proof that things are not ‘peachy’ for “Dominicans”. Of course if the problems of "Dominicans" is not your point of interest then just ignore these articles as they probably don't fit your idea as to what is good, right and just.

Now this article gives a perspective from a few Haitian’s points of view. Of those truly wishing to help Haiti I would suggest that a starting point would be with those organizations listed in the last paragraph.

Rick no conspiracy theory here about why the dismissal of Father Hartley, just a report looking for facts. In the program El Dia journalist Huchi Lora interviews Bishop Francisco Ozoria about the dismissal of the padre. The Bishop says that he was dismissed not because of the work he did for the Haitian laborers but because of some "delito canonico"or canonical offence (crime?). On the contrary, the Bishop says that who the father defended was defensible but done in an inadequate way.

To this day the proof of his offense have not been divulged and are deposited in secret archives at the Nunciatura in Santo Domingo. Another mystery of the Catholic Church. They are specialist in mysteries.

I was just expecting some person devoid of rational thought to try to say that any or all three of the men in question were forced to depart the DR because of their stance for the Haitians. The failure to hear that statement just proves that rationality does exist in some areas but I still haven’t given up the theory that the ‘other side’ will yet post on this thread. Only time will tell. It was your post #8 that made the first statement concerning this subject but you made that statement in reference to a movie that was made and not as a defense against Christopher Hartley or his actions. Your latest post appears to point out that you know the reason he was reassigned so I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

We are all aware of the DR government’s failure to have the whereto or how-to in the implementation of its ideas as can be seen in these articles #3 , #5.and #6. It is my opinion that these failures and foot-dragging is what has transpired and evolved into the present ‘witch-hunt’ of the DR. Due to the fact that modern liberals decided to use the international courts as a means to punish the DR it would seem the DR should use these same courts to assert pressure against some of these same accusers. As an example there is documented proof that Pedro Ruquoy, Christopher Hartley, and Vigny Bellerive have stated they are the fathers of many children that are Haitian for the purpose of acquiring Dominican citizenship for those children. As all three of them are not Dominican and failed to use their native countries to declare nationalities for the children but rather used their positions and the corruption within the DR to acquire Dominican citizenship for the children should speak volumes. Be it the stance held against mendacity by all religions or the total disregard for the law as it is written neither should or can be used as a defense against that which is considered fact, evidence, reason, logic, truth, morality and decency as it pertains to that which most of us were taught as it applies to the operation of a good society.

It is my contention that this latest 38 million dollar program is going to give the DR a larger ‘black eye’ then it presently has and if they continue to fail to treat the injury it may well fester into a life threatening disease.
