Default Resorts walking distance to Plaza Bavaro in Punta Cana?

Are the Paradisius and the Bavaro Princess (formerly Melia) the only two resorts that are walking distance to the Plaza Bavaro in Punta Cana???

I was planning on staying at the new Melia Caribe/Tropical, however, a recent post states the resort is next door to the Barcelo properties - too far!

I'd like to be able to leave the resort without needing a bus/taxi.

Thanks for any help offered.

SM

This is so. You will need to take a bus or taxi to leave the resort.

As you have said, Paradisus and Bavaro Princess are near Plaza Bavaro. But I think that Flamenco Bavaro (Allegro) and Fiesta Resort are nearer...Their main entrances are just in Plaza Bavaro...
From Flamenco "hall" you only have to walk around...5 minutes to be in the Plaza... As Fiesta Resort is bigger, think about 10-15 minutes...
Don't doubt to email me if you need more info.

Beatriz.

Default Flamenco

Yes - the Occidental Flamenco is very close to the Bavaro shopping center....it's literally just outside the resort gates.

Default Hodelpa is near too

Hodelpa Caribe Club is also near to the "mall" and it is a really nice hotel. It's one of my favorite!

Has any one heard of how close the work on the Colony Bay Resort is to being finished? Also; how far from the Riu Palace Macao would I have to travel in order to shop for souvenirs? Any comments regarding the Macao would be appreciated. Thank You.

the newer Melia Resort, with it's hotels Melia Caribe, Tropical and Paradisus Palma Real has it's own shopping area right at his main entrance, so that would be in walking distance for you if you book there, to the plaza bavaro you would have a 10 minutes cabby ride or take the public bus, also 10-12 minutes, that bus stops at your resort's front gate every 20 minutes, costs $1.- per person per ride, and drops you off right at the corner to the plaza bavaro. to go back to the resort after shopping you just grab the bus at the same corner(this time on the other side of the street for the opposite direction of course) and they bring you back to the main entrance of your Melia Resort.
the resorts within walking distance(5-15 minutes, some resorts are huge to walk from the lobby to the maingate)are the Palladium, Flamenco, Bavaro Princess, Paradisus Punta Cana and the Caribe Club Princess.
have fun
Mike

The LTI and Ocean Blue/Ocean Sands are also within walking distance. I stay at the LTI and I walk to the Tower Casino right next door to Bavaro Plaza. Takes me 25-30 minutes walking or a couple of minutes on a motoconcho if one is at the resort gate. I wouldn't recommend shopping there though. It's a really stressful experience. All the shopkeepers are extremely pushy and aggressive. Stick to Palma Real Shopping Village.
