Bavaro Palace is part of a huge and beautiful resort and the advantage to staying at the palace is that you can use all the facilities at any of the other hotels on site. I myself was there about 5 years ago, but as a travel agent I have sent many a client there with nothing but rave reviews. My cousin honeymooned there last October and loved the place. Great food, casino on site, golf course, beautiful white beach. a disco, shopping and anything else you could want. It is however fairly secluded as many of the hotels are in that area.
I'm certain that if you go there you will love it.
Ps. Don't forget to try to get off your resort and explore a bit of the beautiful Dominican Republic.
