Default Flying to Santo Domingo

I am planning to visit Punta Cana next week. I would like to fly to Santo Domingo for the day, with my girl friend. Is it possible to do this and still have a bit of a day in the capital?
Also does anyone know a cab driver/guide who would be able to drive us around Santo Domingo for the day? We both speak fluent Spanish so they don't need to know English.

if you want to fly to the capital city and don't need a guide you can look for promotion of "Air Santo Domingo" at your hotel, they have several flights from punta cana to santo domingo and back every day.

There's also Servair, Takeoff and another one I can't remember the name of right now. If you can afford the expense, it's the best way to go to and from Santo Domingo in 1 day. The trip takes about 40 minutes compared to 4 hours by bus... Price is usually around US$70 one way.
