I am staying in Punta Cana. Does anyone know where I can get a sim card for my cellular?

Visit an Orange shop. They are many in the Punta Cana area. Look for the orange colored banners.

If you have a Rogers AT& T Canadian phone it will work in Punta Cana

go to the "Plaza Larimar" at the " cruze de Friusa", every cab and public bus driver knows it, there you get the orange card and important, you'll get it activated. we have a lot of orange shops in the area, but they don't sell activated sim cards. costs are around $10.-. bring some time, those shops are full all day long, sometimes one hour is nothing before you finish.when you arrive at the small plaza you can not miss the shop, it's located on the groundfloor on the center of the right side
have fun
Mike

Thanks everyone for your replies! I am arriving on a Sunday - do you know if the store at the Plaza Larimar is open on Sundays? I am taking a Rogers Canadian phone that has been unlocked so that I can change the sim card and utilize a local number. That way people in DR can call me toll free. This is my plan anyway - hope it works. Can't wait to be there.

Yeah but at $2 and $3 per minute, I think I will pay $20 to get my old phone unlocked and try to find a cheap SIM card.
The numerous dropped calls add up quickly too.
