what a mistake...Barcello....BAD!!!! BAD!!!! BAD!!!!

I have stated at the Barcelo, and I have never had such a terrible time in my life. I stayed at the "Beach" and trust me the way we were treated you would think I had put a million stamps on my RV from home shipped it down there and was actually staying at the beach. Because I didnt have the correct socailly excpetable colored wrist band I felt as if I was singles out and treated as if I was serving time....no joke. I have stayed at the Bavaor Princess, (wondeful, no matter what color wrist band I had on. I stayed at the Sunscape, and it was the fricking tourists there from France that ruined my trip...I guess Americans would be better used to wipe the boots of the elite french snobbs according to the,,,,but the resort was wonderful ) I did find out from my friend who lives there in SD that when you leave the resort where a wide placelet over your wrist bank or turn it inside out, its almost like a bullseye mark in the middle of your forehead ) anyway, I was hopeing to try a Breezes resort the next trip, but if the Barcello has anything to do with them....STEER CLEAR, or just expect to me treated like cattle that you see along the side of the road. If anyone out there does do find out about the different color braclettes they issue, its an indication of class, or something along that line in the DR...I guess, as much as I hate to think it is a society basde on class and social standing, I guee it is even so at the A! resorts that no matter where you are from or what you pay to stay and play, you are given a "Scarlette Letter: of sort. the only difference is that you wear it on your wrist not on you chest. Yes the Barcelo has three reosrts rolled into one, and even thosugh they say you have access to all there, dont count on the same treatment. My BF and I were practically booted out of the Palace end of the KINGDOM, as he must have been assumed to be my Sankie and me his old with American honey / money a$$. Damn get over it you fricking "players" at any Barcelo resort, we are all working class, other wish, I wouldnt be there to get away from job, kids, etc,,,,and you just wouldnt even be there...its like a kunta kinte night mare...yess em boss, and now let me spit on the Trashy American Tourist because they only have "magenta" braclette and not a shinny gold one. STAY AWAY FROM ANY RESORTS WITH THE AFILIATION TO ANY BARCELO CORPORATION. I am not alone on this one...trust me...and if at all possible, get your "band of Class" attached to your ankle....not so obvious, and pants cover it up out in the general populous. Okay, maybe the blond hair and green eyes are a give away for me...but not necessarily.....STAY AWAY FROM ANY BARCELO PROPERT< DONT CARE WHAT THEY ARE CALLED...DO YOUR RESEARCH !!!! PM me is you like, or have any other questions. I have contacted the Barcelo Resorts in Spain directly and aven after my visit back in May of this year...not even a hi there...form anyone in Corporate...must have seen my colored braclette in the picture I attached...oh, why bother they thought, just another white trash American tourist. Anyon else had this experience...?

No clue about the different bracelet thing, I don't think that's the problem.

If I am not mistaken there are different colored wrist bands at a lot of places. At one time I was told that it distinguishes owners, time sharers, and regular tourists...or something to that effect.

In this case I guess it identified sankie-accompanied females???

Like who cares? You did not like the service, so you could have said so in about 25 words or less.

I hate Barcello properties, and A1's alike. Give me a nice apt by the beach and away from "Animation Alley" and the DR is the best. I was just saying that I prefer to get rid of the bad taste left in my mouth ( and no nasty comments about this either, please...) by my stay at such an awful place. And, hey there HB, hold up...not a Sankie tied to my wrist...and remember, if anyone has read anything I have put out there, I am a writer, maybe I dont always use spell check, but have been published, so words are a good thing for me, and if someone doesnt like reading a long post...well nobody is making you. So, now get on with what is really important to you, what ever it might be, and dont waste your time on me...or my too long posts....and again HB, thanks for the compliment earlier about "a very good writer" that was sweet. But than you went and said the S word in the same sentence along with my preference for men in the DR...hold up there big guy...I lived and learned that game awhile back...no, no , no.....NOT A SANKIE LOVER ! I dont care what anyone has said to you while visiting you down there. Its not me that has anything tied to my wrist. I have a wedding band ( for astetics, not legally married in church so I call it trial by fire , and a I also have a very nice watch, thank you ) I just was saying how I think all things related to any Barcello Property is for sh*t...thats a very poor descriptive word, but we all know the meaning...me make joke ?

yes, resorts have different colored wrist bands depending on several things.

for example,, one AI has:
1- yellow band for those staying 1 night or wknds (and local dominicans usually have these and they all put them on same building)

2- green if you staying in suite or longer stays.

3- gold if you are time share member

so Danceaway,, what color was your band? I'm sure each AI has diff colors but i'm sure same concept applies to all of them.

At times there is also a different colour band for those who have been to the resort more then once.

Yes the different bands can also mean different levels of service. For example if you have been there before - then it is like a frequent flier program in some ways, preferential service, a few extras.

Other times the perception is that you are just a cheap tourist based on the colour of your band. This is not always correct but it is done. Those who have those gold bands are at times perceived as more rich!

So, if you dont' like the AI's then why on earth would you be staying in one? You made the decision even though you said you hate them. Then you have a bad time. BIG surprise to all of us!

Seems to me it isn't just Barcello but all of the resorts and all of the companies. Your comments may not be fair to the Barcello!
