Default Day Trips from Bavaro/Punta Cana

We will be in Punta Cana for 6 days and I would like to see some of DR outside of the hotel complex. My son would love to see some caves. The one I found is Los Tres Ojos in Santo Domingo. Are there any caves closer and what is the least expensive/easiest way to get there. Thanks!!!

Cueva de las Maravillas is located between San Pedro de Macoris and La Romana. I'm not sure if the east coast resorts have excursions there.

The Fun Fun Cave is the largest cave in the Caribbean, running 7 kms underground. The cave features stalactites, stalagmites, cave art, large corridors and subterranean rivers. It is located in Hato Mayor.

the fun fun cave tour in hato mayor is offered by touroperators including transportation, food and drinks, it is a full day tour including caving, horsebackriding aso.
i can absolutely recommend that excursion, i did it myself several times because i know the guys who started that adventure many years back, it's amazing.
just check out the tour reps excursion boards at your resort, the excursion is named Cueva Fun Fun.
an other great organized excursion to leave the resort is the fun buggy tour, you drive your own beach buggy on that full day excursion, around $90.- US per person, driving throu dominican country side and along beaches, absolutely worth the buck.
also found on tourreps excursion sheeds, named Fun Buggy Tour.
have fun
Mike
