urgent info from PC to SD

I have done some research on various websites but have not gotten an answer. Hope someone can help me here. I am flying to Punta Cana on Saturday and would like to go to Santo Domingo as soon as landed. I will be arriving Punta Cana at noon. Is the easiest way (beside taxi direct to SD) to get to SD is take a taxi from the airport to the town Higuey, and then bus to SD? Can someone please confirm it, where should I get off in Higuey for the bus to SD. How long and how much is the taxi cost to Higuey?

Oh! If anyone going from PC to SD this Saturday around the same time as me, lets say 12-2pm, perhaps we can share a taxi to lower our cost, just let me know.
