Restaurant recommendations

Hello, we are travelling to Punta cana on Jan 31 for 2week stay at the Catalonia Bavaro Beach Resort and we want to meet up with some others on Feb. 1st that are staying at the Occidental Grand Resort, can you suggest a good restaurant/pub/bar, somewhere inbetween, that we could take a cab to, as we think the distance is too far between resorts, but not too sure?
I understand that there is a shopping centre nearby the Occidental is tht correct...Appreciate any suggestions that you have... Thanks.

if you want to meet up at a place with top seafood, typical dominican, fishies caught by the operating family itself, then you should take "El Pescador Matru", located in the middle of the 2 resorts of yours, 15 minutes for each to arrive(from the occ Grand just 10 minutes), not a crowded tourist mass production, a really great place with the best sea food.

if you take a map of Punta Cana it is located right at the entrance of Los Corales aside El Cortecito.
