Default Difference b/w Palma Real and Punta Cana?

I have been looking for a honeymoon spot in Punta Cana and I am pretty sure we want to stay at Paradisus Palma Real. I am curious though what the real difference is between the Palma Real and the Paradisus Punta Cana. I'm aware that the Punta Cana is older and it's about $100 less.

Is there a big difference between the beach, the pool, the restaurants, the services that justifies the $100 swing. You get what you pay for I know. Any info is appreciated.

Waters are much calmer at the Palma Real.
Newer as you know and more luxurious.

Default royal service

just back from week at ppr

if on your honeymoon, spend the extra money at ppr and get the royal service
just makes it special with your own butler and beach hut etc

also look into tortuga bay and the new sanctuary hotel at cap cana more money as well but maybe better option

good luck
