Weather June - July + excursions

What s the typical sample of weather in Punta Cana and Dominican Rep. for end June, begining July??? I know its very hot BUT HOW S WITH RAIN???
Are there any excursions on local tourist agencies to go inland Dominican Republic from Punta Cana and to Samana...Maybe some 2 day excursions?

The days are going to be hot, with temps reaching into the 90's F / low 30's C. The country will be exiting the rainy season (May), but expect some rainy periods in June and July, usually am and pm thundershowers.

There are excursions one can take, usually the offers are half-day and day trips. Most of the resorts have information regarding what is offered and at some resorts there are representatives from the tour companies available to handle your questions. Going to Samana from Punta Cana and return is more than a day trip using surface transportation. Best option for that destination is air transport from Punta Cana.
