Smile Iberostar Punta Cana

I'll be staying here in May. Should I ask for a certain type room or view? Any info would be helpful.

Whenever we travel, we always ask for and ocean view, I have never paid for one, but we have always gotten them..so it doesnt hurt to ask, and i've never flashed cash or paid extra...we just ask!
Make sure you ask for what is important to you-Do you need a fridge? ask for one..a safe? close to the beach ? or close to the pool? more lively? (like around the stage) or more quiet..if you are near the stage or pool area, your siesta may be disturbed!
most importantly... a rooms a room, really how much time do you wanna spend in there?? least amount of time the better!!
I've seen so many people trip about their rooms, it's really too bad...to me it's all about the weather, beaches and food!!
woot woot!!
Have an amazing vacation...and dont sweat the small stuff!!

you'll be in punta cana so just enjoy yourself! having an oceanview room and being close to the beach is definitely a plus BUT my friend and i opted for a room closer to the lobby so that we wouldnt have to stumble so far after some major late night partying it all depends on what kind of vacation you're looking for.

have a great time!!

The wife and I just came back from that resort, did you catch my post (with the same heading?) and pic's? ZSZKicker - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I asked for an ocean view room, got real close but there are not that many, besides, I do not think you can see the ocean through the palm trees very well.
We did ask for a room not on the first floor so it would be quieter, and a king size bed. We did get those, second floor, almost at the end of the building (close to the beach) and a king sized bed. All rooms have fridges and electronic safes so there is no "Key" for them.
Bring a insulated drinking mug as the ice melts faster that a snowball in hades. I had a 32oz mug, can you say 32oz Margareta!? Hand the barkeep a buck and say "Mucho Tequila"! and stand back!
Some people complain about the pillows, we had 3 on the bed and another in the closet, and they were not paper thin, I don't know were these complaints are from but I had none!

Enjoy your trip, I know we did and plan to go back! Let us know how you made out.

Cool Dominicana and Punta Cana

Iberostar Punta Cana, Dominicana or Bavaro? As for the Punta Cana and the Dominicana it all depends on where you like to spend your time. We love the lobby bar in the Punta Cana whether it is a drink or a cappucino, however we spend most of our day at activities and out door BBQ on the opposite end towards the ocean on the Dominicana side. The junior suites are towards the lobby of the Punta Cana if I remember right. If you like the casino, lobby bars and disco and are more of a night owl you might want to be closer to the lobby if you are there for daytime beach fun get towards the ocean, also the Punta Cana side is quieter then the Dominicana. Either are great choices, we have not stayed t the Bavaro.
