Need help Punta Cana vs Casa De Campo
am Visiting 4 days in November After viewing web sites I can't decide where to stay I want to golf, go out at night and be close to a beach (maybe gamble at the Casino) If I stay in Bavaro, is it close to Punta Cana and how long of a cab ride Also is it easy to do a day trip to Casa De Campo to play Teeth of the Dog one day- Is there any night life there. Are the local bars and restaurants safe off the resorts? Went to Jamaica a couple of times and enjoyed the local spots, had a driver to take us around Any help appreciated

Some the local bright lights will tell you about the night life in that area. As for the trip to play Teeth of the Dog....Why?
You can play Punta Espada, the new Jack Nicklaus course in Cap Cana for what it would cost you to get to la Romana and play Teeth. And it is a much more impressive course IMO. You also have 15 other very good courses in the Bavaro area.
On the other hand, were you to go to Casa de Campo inthe first place, you would have four interesting courses to play. Teeth of course, then Links, the Dye Fore, and then, if you are a good boy, you can go over to La Estancia and play that beautiful new course, designed and build by Pete Dye's son....
So there you have it...I'll leave the nightlife and casinos to the ones that know about that.

I was at Cap Cana today, actually just flew back. Punta Espada has just been voted #2 course in the Caribbean by Forbes magazine.
Take a look at our course review site. La Estancia review will be posted later today or tomorrow.

Thanks for the feedback how close is Punta Cana, Bavaro, and Cap Cana distance or time wise driving. Which other two courses would you pay for a 4 day stay (probably 3 days of golf) Thanks for the help

They are all within minutes of each other.
I think Cocotal is certainly one on your list and perhaps Roko-ki would be the other. Or Punta Cana Golf...50/50 there..

RocoKi will be good once it is finished, Cocotal is very good, La Cana at the Punta Cana Resort & Club is top top notch with several wholes right on the ocean front. Cap Cana will be great when finished around 2010,til then most parts are under construction, nothing nearby to hang out/nightlife.
i would recomend to stay in the Punta Cana area in your case, so you have nice beaches, top golfing and you'll find nightlife everywhere within a 15 minutes driving distance, by rental mcar or cabby(take a cabby so you don't drink and drive, lol).
have fun
