Hwy. punta cana airport to Bavaro areas

My wife and I have been traveling to differnt resorts from Bavaro to Uvero Alto since August 2006. We have been told of a highway that was to have been completed within two years.Whenever we visit we notice some progress but it still appears to be along way aways from completion.Does anyone have any info or details pertaining to the status of this project?

thanks mike.is there a highway dept office that might be able to provide any info? is this a government run or private enterprise project?

it is a governmental project.
should be under jurisdiction of the Secretaria de obras publicas y comunicaciones(SEOPC), sure they will have some info online wit contact addresses, but i never tried to contact them.
maybe you'll find them googling a bit for them.

just back from my daily rodtrip over pc's great highways, lol,

Have taken a glance at this site, however by the time I make sense of it the road will probably be completed being my spainish is poor at best.
