near el cortesito you will find, Paladium, melia caribe-tropical, edenh, barcelo dominican beach, etc.
It,s not true that dominican can get better rates, local rates most times are even higher.
I always book my reservation in bookit.com or hotels.com, they have great rates. sometimes half price of the local rate.
from those hotels your best choice is Melia. and the less, dominican beach.

hi Rubio,
no, i can sure not proof such.
i stay there at the Carabela with my wifey(and kids stay at home)
for our anniversay every May plus 1-2 more long weekends per year.
i never saw a cucaracha at a room or somewhere nearby, even that one would not surprise me nowhere in the area, i mean we know both where we live.
after our visit to the EdenH '09 easter weekend we sure will be back again at the Carabela mid May(15th is the birthday of my "Boss").
Vintage,
the Santa Maria Condos are right in front, yeap,
good spot, but the rates at the Carabela are less and they are for all inclusive,
and it is located right on the beach.
Mike
