Thanks Mike. Yes you are correct, that was a young one, but that sure didn't stop it from putting up a great fight. It was the first one we caught and the crew asked if we wanted to keep it and we said no pictures only. Next thing we knew they had it on the back of the boat. All others were photographed in the water or with bills up and tail in the water.

Mike bro,
first i'm a female, second dont know who would eat a blue Marlin,I dont eat fish- I dont recall saying Bring a blue Marlin to the chef', I said a "big one" Dorado's can be big no?
Anyways.. i have friends that have fished with you and been on your excursion, and have had a blast!
But i also know, many fisherman want to keep the catch, which i disagree with...but really, who am i to say. I'm all for catch and release
We were on a Catamaran once, and threw a line in, there was a barracuda on the line and we all had to go to the front of the boat apparantly it was charging the boat!! that was some scary!
I'm looking forward to a fishing trip at your Marina, but i'm more of an observer!

Now I’m confused (which isn’t hard to do) some are not good to eat, some are ok to eat/others you rather catch and release? WAAAAAAAH I have an idea!!!! Threat me like a third grader and teach me. *smiles* I’m really not playing….I can just see my happy tail coming in all excited and wanting to keep something that would be like a stink bug -- taking the fish to the chef (just knowing he's going all smiles and happy) and him looking at me in abject horror going back and telling everyone (in a language I’ll not be able to understand but in body language I’d have NO problem understanding) there is one crazy white blond women w/birthday hat on her head wanting me to cook THIS…..Americana’s! *snorts* Do you see my dilemma? I hate (pardon the pun) being a fish out of water…..I could use some help on this one, please, point me in the direction I can educate myself, if you would, thank you for any help. *sigh*
One other question….is there only one school in Punta Cana…and how many children (ballpark figure) do you think is in the school. I have something in mind to bring to the children and would like to take it to the school, again, would this be a “proper” thing to do or out of line? Thank you all…this is with out a dought the best site I’ve been on for information. Stay safe, again, thank you!

Not just one - there are several public schools in Verón that I know of.

Then my idea may not be a practical one, right?

Linda,
we have around a dozen public schools in the nearby area.
of course it is always a great idea to bring stuff for the kids, but not everybody should step in a school by himself stopping the class on what they are actually doing. contact my buddy PC Mike on vienemo@yahoo.com , he often arranges visits to deliver donations with visitors present.
to your fishies:
yes, there are differences.
in case of the Billfishes, so named slow breeders, they need to be protected, that's why they be released.
and there are spezies which are not very favorable to eat/toxic, such as Barracudas and Bonitos, so i would not recommend to take such.
and we have top quality spezies like Doardo, Wahoo, Red Snappers, Mero aso, who are perfect for a great dinner.
happy sunday
time for the road now
