My partner and I are considering visiting Blue Bay Villas Doradas, Gran Ventana Hotel or one of the Barcelo hotels on Bavaro beach in August and are a little unsure of what the places are going to be like. I was wondering if any one knows any of the following;

What make of alochol do they serve in Dom Rep for example beer and vodka, also is cola, lemonade etc available?

What are traditional dishes in Dominican? Wide variety of European food?

Is it best to change our currency to Pesos or Dollars?

Are vaccinations essential or just advisory?

Can duty free be purchased from Dom Rep to be brought home? Cigarettes and alcohol. And can they both be taken into Dominican?

Does anyone have any tips or info that they could give us before we book up? Would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Blue Bay villas Dorado is the noth end of the island while bavaro is punta cana which is east I have stayed in blue bay and it was very nice and have used some hotels in punta cana too so if you need more information will try to help.
