JCE Bulletins
The JCE issued its first bulletin at 7 pm. Bulletin zero serves as starting point for the start of the bulletins with vote counts as they come in from the municipal boards.
For the occasion, JCE president, Luis Arias congratulated Dominicans and his own staff for a "very positive" day, despite some unfortunate happenings that he said were fruit of the passion in the mindset of some Dominicans. He said the process occurred with much normality, and few incidents. He pointed out that as of 2 pm there were only reports of 0.4% of persons whose cedula had them voting at the wrong table, but that most of these cases were latter resolved in the afternoon and the people were able to vote. He said there have been some delays because of the rainy weather with the certificates arriving to the municipal boards, mentioning the specific cases of Nagua and Rio San Juan, but that helicopters were being used successfully to facilitate the count.
He confirmed that the JCE had to suspend the news programming of some TV and radio stations (reportedly these were the government-intervened stations) that during morning hours were broadcasting news that was beyond "the limits" of the electoral law.
So, so far, so good.
A good source tells us that this year there may be a "surprise" and the trend reports may be in earlier than expected. The JCE had forecast it would have numbers by 10 pm.
So, families and friends are gathering and everyone is connected following whatever news comes available.

A bit anxious
I have followed this contest with much anticipation and now it seems that I just can't wait a few more hours to see the result. I was a member of the PLD when I lived in the DR (14 years ago) and now wish to see the party back on because I trully and deeply believe it is not only the BEST but the ONLY choice for the country out of this nightmare.
So partners, bring it on! Let me know what the heck is going on in the DR..please...
Question:
Is anyone concerned with the trend of the last polls with Leonel losing a few points and the *** (a three letter word which mean the posterior part of the body or EL Burro) gaining a few?
Was I overly concerned?

After putting numbers together from polls taken back in Feb and comparing it to those taken in the first days of May.
Remember that the first polls gave Leonel a 64% and now all give a 54%, which is more than enough but makes you think that these people are spending a lot of money to buy people's votes which is illegal twice.

Is the JCE issuing a bulletin online?
Their page has been offline for a few minutes now which makes me think they took it off-line to prepare the 1st bulletin.

Dolores - have you been able to pull any bulletins from outside the DR? All the ones I tried they crashed when I selected the link.
If you get access to them, can you post them?
