Default Work Permit

Hi,
Firstly- I was just wondering if there is any way of getting a work permit without applying for residency?
Secondly- Is it best to apply for this before we go to the Dominican Republic, or wait until we get there? Is it possible to get a job out there without one, whilst in the process of applying?
I know there is info on this subject however, I have not found the answers I'm looking for! Unless I'm being extremely dumb and can't see it!

Thanks
Louise

Depending on where you find work, the company you work for may pay for you to get your residency or at least pay half......if your skills are in demand then you have a better chance.....it's always worth asking though!
