i am trying to find out how to get employment in the DR. expecially around being a tour representative. Qualifications? who do i contact? etc etc. Another area of interest is working with children.

For work with tour companies from Canada, contact then in Canada. Do a web search and email them directly. They do hire from here but it is preferable to start in Canada.
Working with children here won't make you enough money to survive!
