Is it possible to get a temporary work permit for 6 months up to a year for the Dominican Republic? I am 19 years old and was offered a job at one of the all inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, I was told I need to obtain a work permit, or a cedula in order to work there. I do not want to apply for residency yet, I want to work there first for a few months to make sure that I want to stay there, and then I would apply for residency.
Gracias!

You cannot get a residency is so short a time. And you cannot get a cedula without a residency.
YOu might obtain a Work Visa, but, unfortunately, I have no idea as to how that works. Perhaps one of the other folks here can help you.

Most people work without any sort of paper and as things progress, they get their papers in order..
