Default And your Spanglish is pretty good, too

Comments about this type of desire to move to the DR are covered in many threads on DR1. In your case, speaking Spanish and having a familiarity with the DR culture through your parents will help. Do you have connections in the DR?
Finding a good job will be all about connections. As to whether you would enjoy working and be able to live as you wish for a small fraction of the same salary that you get in the US, only you can decide.

As you are aware, it isn't inexpensive to live in the DR and requires a lot of planning to decide if you can.
