And on a more serious note, there have been mails from people a bit concerned when seeing billboards with those sort of pictures that somehow this could be misinterpreted for a gringo company war on locals. I don't know if what they have seen is the same as the photo mountainfrog linked to but it appears that there are/is billboard(s) on the highway. Is this true?
Yes Lambada, there are billboards all along the highway between Puerto Plata and at least as far I went yesterday, going towards Cabarete (I didn't go past Coastal gas station) so I don't know how far they actually go. Since I had already read the thread here on DR1, I wasn't surprised by them and I'm curious and waiting to see how well this new security project works.

That is the image used in the advertising on the road between Sosua & Cabarete (and perhaps elsewhere). The signs do stand out... so I suspect interested parties in the area are or soon will be aware.

Lambada stop finding any reason whatsoever to attack me, you are merely adding to the tremendous support and friendship I get from people that you have previously insulted.

Thats it! I am not responding again to these inane childish remarks, I am busy, I have a business to run.
You know what? You're right.

We shouldn't ask questions about your company in whose hands you ask others to place their lives.

We should just send you checks.

What's the address again?

Didn't you guys protect Hillary Clinton in Bosnia back in the 90's?

PS: Why are you making this so easy?

SAS/Ladybird/Margaret or whatever name you are using today: wasn't this your rather caustic response to my question regarding firearms in the DR? Did you suddenly have a change of heart?

It would be in your interest to include a disclaimer in your advertising that you are not nor have ever been associated with the British Special Air Services.

I have read on this forum that civilians are not supposed to own a .45, I suppose that would also pertain to the purchase of .45ACP and .45 Long Colt ammo which I could use for target shooting as they are actually much more "comfortable" to shoot and invariably less expensive

I was hoping someone on this forum may have first hand experience

Sorry Margaret but I couldn't get the 'Quote' Function to work for this response - I suspect someone else id trying to post at the same time!!

This owner of SASDOMREP a former senior police officer will be taking all this feedback into consideration and will be obtain another photo that's more suitable. You can submit your comments by PM to SASDOMREP, I think that's a more constructive way to critique someone's work tactfully and privately.

I am somewhat confused & it is getting MORE confusing by the post ............
Is not Barbara (LadyBird aka SASDomRep) the owner of the SASDomRep site?? If SO, Where did this "Former Senior Police Officer" bit comer from? Her constant referrals to things she has been in the past has NEVER elucidated this before!! May we enquire WHICH county & WHICH senior position? I would gladly undertake the responsibility of checking this point out!

If "The Owner of SASDomRep" refers to someone other than LadyBird, then please allow me the knowledge of THAT person's name so that I can check it out - PM would be fine!! I am NOT 'attacking' anyone, nor am I against good security ideas - just trying to get the handle on how much of this idea is 'good thinking' & how much is 'wishful thinking'!! ~ Grahame.

Default Typical

Not since Nals and his famous "car accident" excuse have we seen such a colossal "strikeout".

Ladybird/SASdomrep/Whatever,

You are entitled to make an ass of yourself. But why would you choose to do so in such a public forum? Couldn't you have marched your sanky (the 50 cent wannabe) down the street and just asked people to laugh at you?

I forgot how much fun it is to be "nasty and unpleasant" (your words to describe me) but can you blame me!!!!

Perhaps you should try to get him a job as a mall-cop in Miami.

A "mall cop" would be quite an uptick in security from an SASDomRep Guatchiman, I think they have training and get bonded!

Truth be told, one doesn't need to have an SF background to run a decent watchman business here. I would think a rudimentary experience in security or police would do. Also, bringing a Western work ethic and accountability will be much appreciated by many who are discenchanted with the locals. I still wish them the best even if there website isn't the best or they appear maybe a little overly defensive. We could use more businesses like this here if they do it well.

Why not?

It's quite frightening to see whom security firms nowadays hire.

Their usual low pay may lure a few unsuccesful sankies (at the lower end of the trade) but here in LT I now see many Haitians in 'securidad uniforms', also very young 'muchachos' and very old fellows.
I very much doubt that they were trained well or screened thoroughly for reputation.

In case of the Haitians I suspect that many are employed illegally and do not have proper identification papers. If they disappear overnight where would one look for them? In Haiti?
What was his name again? OMG.
