To all of you employers,

I am Canadian and looking to move in DR in the next few months. I sure qualify to move and work in DR. Searching for a good paying job definitely. I am perfectly fluent at speaking and writing in both English and French. I have over 8 years of customer service experience and I'm currently in admin (contract).

i have done my research and haven't found any position utilizing French speakers.

Is French in demand in DR? Any recommendations on how i could use my French speaking skill as an employment opportunity?

ps. i refuse to make pesos as i know i can upgrade it to dollars

Thx guys!

Have you been to the DR before? if not you may be surprised. Usually 20,000/MONTHpeso is considered decent income here. Not sure if they will upgrade that to dollars just because....???
As for french, the best thing you have going for you there in my opinion, is that it will make spanish easier for you to learn, as you cannot expect it to be an asset over spanish. I am a Canadian as well and apart from the odd Haitian, i have not heard french spoken thus far. Goodluck

I am looking to work in the DR. I am fed up with the rat race of NYC. I have been in the Bar/Restaurant/Nightclub business for 10 years. I am willing to learn a new trade or use my expertise in my field. I have excellent customer srvice skills and speak/read/write excellent english. My spanish is limited to kitchen spanish, although I am a quick learner and eager to master the language. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Resume and refrences are available upon request.

If you really are good on the phone then you can do this at home.

If money or experience is an issue, then work at a call center, save your Pesos, Bite The Bullet and maybe one day you can open your own call center and laugh all the way to the bank.

Did I just Respond to Someone that will work for $4 per hour?

Why not , If he or she is any good I will pay them $5 per hour.

Just kidding, I pay more than that!
I think $ 5. is good if you take in cosideration the low cost of living in the DR.
