Does anybody has experience with that company? It sounds interesting, I would like to apply there, but I would like to hear some experience from fellow DR1 members....

It does sound interesting. I know the hospital I work for in the states has an account with Language Line. We are encouraged to use their services when we are caring for patients that don't speak English or their English is limited. I would hope the company would pay their interpreters well. I don't think there services come cheaply. That's great they have an office here in the capital.

From what I remember from talking to people that work there, they are making about a 120rd an hour.

Do they offer their "work from home" opportunity here in DR, too?

I have used their services at work. I needed an interpreter that spoke Chinese. I didn't know what dialect. They were able to figure out that it was a dialect of the fukinese dialect. One that very few people speak. They got me an interpreter in very quickly. I was impresssed. If we are speaking about the same program they are through Stamford University language school.

I've been working in Language Line for a few months, and I like it a lot better than any other call center I've worked in here. The pay...well not so much.. Interperters make $ 3.60 an hour, and the operators make $ 3.00. But they give atttendence, preformance, lunch, transportation incentives every month so that helps. It's a pretty relaxed enviviroment, no supervisors breathing down your neck all day. They are really strict about attendance, even if you have a medical certificate they give you a strike, and after so many they will let you go.
