Please find below my initial stab at providing some useful links for environment & natural resources topics related to the DR. I will be updating these as we go along. If you have any to suggest that you do not find here, please post them or PM or e-mail me and if worthy (most meaning they are not spam!) I will add. THANKS!

The sad part is that a lot of these laws can do a world of good if only they were enforced.

Josia -- glad you posted here, it reminds me to post the link for the Ecological Society of the Cibao, which I had been meaning to do.

HM - Don't depair just yet. Did you check out the latest entry to the Green Team blog, on enforcement?
