I love the Fact-Tip lessons in http://www.oneearth.org

An adaptation by adding sound, voice and imagery would be perfect for school presentations.

http://www.dr1.com/blogs/?u=environment

Hope you enjoy. Might be surprised by what you read in this one....

Good stuff Keith! We'll be contacting the department. As part of another project, I've been invited to do a weekly ecological talk to volunteers from top US colleges and universities at a nearby orphanage with a view to sharing volunteers and enriching their experience. We'll find out whether there is a club in our area and if not, offer to start one as part of this initiative. (I also have to be a judge at a local science fair - go figure!)

Such good things are happening! Now if the political guys just want to behave themselves for a while into the future, we should be able to do more good things.

You may be glad to hear, for my favorite project, today we got three impact studies funded from a US Source and a Dutch source. Total funding to the tune of about US$40,000 to 50,000 dollars of resource support for proper initial impact studies and community education. You were the one talking about proper data eh! Top That! Yeah! (sorry, I'm way tooooo happy!)

I'll soon do an update for all involved and a submission for the Green Team Blog.

Congratulations, Christa, that's great news! I'm sure that when you finally announce the project to everyone in the Green Team blog, they'll agree too! I'm glad you're doing it the right way (I expect no less from you! ). Too many EIAs in the DR are shams, something that must change -- and yes, you guessed it! The subject of a future blog! LOL

The final piece in our "intro to the DR & organics" series (but not our final word on organics!) was just posted:

"The DR & Organics - What to Do If You're Outside the DR"

http://www.dr1.com/blogs/?u=environment

I had originally planned to post this before the Environment Police piece, but after Mirador found a problem in the list of Dominican organics exporters we offer in blog entry, I had to re-check the list...you guys have no idea how much work this thing is! Just hope it proves useful...

Chiri fans and TexasBill fans, keep your eyes peeled. Their wit & wisdom coming soon.

Captain (or is it Curmudgeon?) Keith heading back to cajoling Team members to get their entries in...

Someone asked if there isn't a way that they could be emailed every time there's a new entry added to the Green Team blog. In fact there is and I just activated it. If you would prefer email notification rather than having to constantly re-check this thread or checking the blog between entries, then PM me or send a request to be added to the email list to greenteam@dr1.com

I also added one of those guest maps such as the one Chiri has on her blog. I hope people add their flag pins to the map. Should be interesting if people actually start pinning, as GT blog readers have come from quite a variety of countries already -- not just the US, Canada & DR, but also Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Panama, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey & UK.

Best Regards,
Keith

Well, given the subject matter (the lack of logic in the fuel restrictions), I would have thought you'd all rush to read Chiri's entry. Must be too many of you in Friday afternoon holiday parties already...

And did I mention that it features my artistic debut?
