Oh, well. Thanks anyway for your input...
Grouchy? Not at all. I was just wondering when you were going to post something other than the drum roll.

I am in a great mood. We have raised over 6500 Dollars to ACTUALLY do something for the kids of the North Coast. It was a great event that was put on by people that wanted to do something.

Why would you think I was grouchy? I was just wondering how long it was going to take before you actually write something in your blog. It has been four days since the intro and I for some reason expected something to actually read.

NOTE FROM KEITH: Sorry, I accidentally appended a reply to your post rather than made a reply post. I fixed. [embarassed]

Scott, read my amended post just before this one, which I amended a minute or so before you posted this.

In point of fact, the intro was made public only on Wed. afternoon. I ought to know. That's only two calendar days. If you saw it before then, somebody gave you the address before official launch, when we were still experimenting with it.

Thanks! I think we have a good group and I am excited to be working with them. I think if I could tell who the anonymous ones are you'd be even more impressed, but I will respect their wishes.

And as I said at the start and in the intro blog entry, the Green Team is not a closed group. We invite all interested in helping to contact us. We all have different talents, resources, perspectives that we can contribute.

What we're trying to do with this blog is shed some light, change some attitudes, get people thinking and exchanging ideas, and above all, realize that positive things can be done if enough people put their mind and will behind it and pool their resources. Somebody has to take the first steps, get us all beyond simply throwing up our hands and saying there's no use trying, the DR will never change, never improve. We refuse to give into cynicism and apathy and are convinced that there are many out there, Dominican and non-Donimican alike, resident or not resident in the DR, posting on DR1 or not, that love the country and feel likewise...

Best Regards,
Keith

Keith, I look forward to reading whatever you are going to write. I don't quite understand your goals, plans and actions by your intro and I guess I won't until I see something concrete.

This has nothing to do with being a grouch and I am a bit perplexed why you would even say such a thing.

Like I said in a previous post, people will read more than one bit in a blog. I have had people read thousands of lines of type in one sitting so waiting because of people being busy on Thanksgiving isn't really going to make a difference. They will read it the next day or the day after etc..

Saturdays and Sundays are the slowest days on my blog. Thanksgiving Day was a decent day. Above average but not the biggest for whatever it is worth.

Good luck,
Escott

The second entry to the Green Team's blog is now up:

"Last Chance to See"

http://www.dr1.com/blogs/?u=environment

This is one is from Team member Chirimoya, and is only the first of several planned from Chiri, Caco and others regarding the subject of the future of tourism in the DR. Each will be looking at the issue from a diffrent angle.

Regards,
Keith R
Green Team Captain

Thanks for the best wishes, Scott. But even as you were complaining in your earlier post, Chiri's entry was up. I just hadn't announced it yet.

Two more coming soon from different team members. May be a day or two, so I hope the ADD crowd will bear with us.

We each do our blogs differently, and the audiences will differ. Again, this is an effort involving coordination of 12 individuals with diferent time schedules. Some are natural writers, some are not; the former I am working with on their entries. This takes time. The subject matter will be different. You are comparing apples and oranges.

I feel bad now - it's all my fault.

Keith had originally planned to post the intro and my piece together when the blog was launched. For reasons of strategy more than modesty, I advised that the intro should go on first, and once people had had a day or two to read it, it could be followed by the first contribution.

I also think that rather than bombard the readers with daily updates, we should space them out - one every two or three days - for the same reason, and also so the entries coming in from contributors don't get used up too quickly.

The makeup of the green team should make for some interesting reading.

But I thought a Texan Environmentalist is an oxymoron.

Uh-oh. You'll be hearing from TexasBill and AlaninDR! LOL

Funny you should make that comment. The next scheduled blog is from Alan, tentatively entitled "What, me an environmentalist????"
