If you want the mass of the Hispanic population to learn something “Póngaselo en las novelas” (Put in the soap operas). I have discussed such ideas with a member of the GT. My idea is to appeal to the women that is so proud of her clean home, run ads that teach the population that you can have a cleaner country if we take the same care as these women do to keep a spotless home. It may seem like a simple idea but is one that plants the seed.

If we decide on ads in the papers or TV, we have to commit ourselves to contribute MONEY to run them.
No matter what we do, it will still cost us time, money and effort. If we're serious about this endeavor, we must understand that it won't be easy or cheap. So start figuring in your budget how much it will cost you in time and money to see this through.
Some trustworthy person must assume the responsibility to gather up contributions for this purpose.
If most of us decide to follow along this venue, I'll send money.

In a way, we are a 'banana republic'. It would be great to be an 'organic banana republic'.

"Organic banana republic" What a great logo to print on a T-shirt!!

Glad you like it! I had a chuckle when I posted it... Now if I was a marketer, I could go places with that slogan. Kinda fun, kinda funny but it says things eh!

It would be sweet it we could make a soap opera. I still believe the best lessons are in the comics...
The ones I love best is Asterix and Obelix. I'm going to check right now if there is a sustainable living message in one of those...

What a treasure. I did a google search on "Asterix Obelix sustainable living" Try it!

Keith is going to kill me!

Parts IV & V of the Organics series just went up:

"Organics & The DR: The Idealism & Reality"

http://www.dr1.com/blogs/?u=environment

Also up is a list of suggestions from Chiri & I on what to do if you reside or spend much time in the DR and you wish to support increased organic production there. If anyone has good further suggestions, let us know in comments to the blog or at greenteam@dr1.com and we'll add them. Thanks!

Regards,
Keith

Default Litterbug

I have been waiting to see a "Don't be a litterbug" campaign, as we had in North America when I was a kid.
It was followed by laws that permitted the police to levy fines for tossing trash out the car window.
I believe it would be a good starting point for any & all Green Team projects, as it would make the locals more aware of their environment and open to other environmental issues.

Hi Marco. Don't worry! Litter, waste and ecycling are all slated for the GT spotlight. Before I am finished with it, you might wish we spent more time on other issues!

Warm Regards,
Keith

I'm not sure why I would wish that, but I believe it to be the foundation needed to start the ball rolling.
Now. let me ask you. What the heck are you doing up at this hour?
I thought I was the only weirdo who posted in the middle of the night.
You're not a vampire, are you?

Well, because I am so into the issue, that once you get me started talking about it, it's hard to stop me.

Nah, I have a sense of humor. Maybe not a good one, but one nonetheless!

Actually, in my HS & college I was quite a good cartoon sketcher, did satire toons for my friends about our institutions of higher education. Maybe I should dust off the pencils and drawing pads and try to come up with some stuff for the Green Team....
