The DR goverment has just signed an agreement with Canada for the 'integrated management' of the Artibonito river valley, programme that will run concurrently in both sides of the border, based on similar agreement with the Haitian government. It is no secret that Canada's Unigold Resources has already staked claims for open pit mining of gold and copper deposits in that same region.


Canada will finance Artibonito river valley environmental rehabilitation

Your subject had me confused. I thought you were talking about all the old men in DR with 18 year old girlfriends.

No, if that's what you're looking for, check the Venus/Mars forum, not the Environment Forum.
