I think maybe there was a band of willing volunteers ahead of the meeting planned for January 6th. but when that got postponed perhaps they lost a bit of impetus? I'm not sure if that meeting got rescheduled and I don't have time right now to go through this thread to see if jackieboo put out a call for willing volunteers to attend a rescheduled meeting & to be part of a committee or planning group. I would agree, Don Juan, that it is a lonely road to walk if one is doing it alone.

All I would say is that DR1'ers in that area do respond when asked. Look at the Wrapping Paper Needed thread.

Default Every little bit helps

I can't understand why some people think this is funny or foolish. Anyone that trys to clean up a problem is helping. If nothing else comes from this at least people will be made to look at these piles of trash and maybe feel a bit sorry for helping create them. It may even make you think twice before tossing your trash on the beach or curb.
Unfortunitly this problem will not go away until a profitable solution is created. The idea I saw posted of putting up a co generation plant is not so far from real. My company produces a unit that can take your waste and safely turn it into clean fuel and electricity at a profit . We are just starting to advertise in your contry. So very soon you may see us in your area and then you will all be jumping at the chance to get involved. For more information please feel free to contact me by e mail as I don't want to advertise here.

Thought you might like to read about the recent clean up of the Malecon in Puerto Plata. It was organised by the Mayor, the Governor, the Red Cross and the Fire Chief (who will receive a visit from a Sussex (UK) Fire Brigade on Tuesday to exchange emblems.) .

Why don't you want to advertise here? It is the best bang for the buck in the DR. Strange?

AS I stated in a past post I'm working on the project every day and I am very close to getting the project off the ground and operating.

The major problem that I have encountered seems to be people's unwillingness to donate their time if it isn't being done their way. Unfortunately that is not going to happen. The thing here is that it's my project, I have a solid business plan to make it happen for the long run, if you're willing to donate your time and take direction from me, then you're welcome to join.

If you want to just bitch then go ahead, in the mean time I'm getting my original plan implimented and will post again when it's up and running.

Again, if you want to donate your time PM me and we'll set up a time to meet and discuss the project.

Jack

Sorry Cobraboy is that a little snake strike? Actually every Sunday I collect garbage on a different beach, load it in to my car, haul it to my house and then pay extra to have my trash collector take it to the landfill.

On top of that I'm collecting brochures tomorrow for the new program (paid by me) and will be making sales calls starting next week.

I am also looking to hire full time a professional Dominican that speaks fluent English to help with the sales.

I'll be posting the job position on employment shortly.

So, Cobraboy, what can you do to help our country? Want to join me on the beach Sunday with a couple of Presidente's and a trash bag?

Cobraboy does not live in the country and can hardly be out collecting trash in Sosua.
He did want to help and offered a lot of counsel.
What more can he do from a distance?
