Cant see myself meeting a live tarantula...being I'm a arachnophobia!!!

that one spider was real interesting looking. The Micrathena one. Also love the one with the many legs by the $100 bill .

Default global warming and insects

yes,,,thanks for sharing those pics.....

the big spiders are giving me the iggy biggies!!!!!!!!

love the variety of butterflies you have....

I know in Canada they say that butterflies are becoming an endangered insect because of the global warming...do you think that in time this will also affect the insects in the lower america and the carribean?

Many Dominicans have told me that the centipedes can sting and even kill. Anyone know if that's true or just urban legend? My wife was constantly telling our kids to steer clear of them when we lived in SD.

My understanding is that the research into this particular facet of global climate change is still in its very early stages, so difficult to say. The supposition is that as their habitats are affected by changes in weather, hydrology (drier or wetter), etc., some animals will become endangered. Some, though, may adapt. Difficult to say at this point.
