Sorry, you are absolutely right - Garter Snake in the garden (not Garden Snake)

Default hummingbirds

Antillean Mango Anthracothorax dominicus
Hispaniolan Emerald Chlorostilbon swainsonii
Vervain Hummingbird Mellisuga minima
Ruby-throated Hummingbird Archilochus colubris
Apparently there are four types of humminbird to be found in the Dominican Republic- the Vervain Hummingbird is the second smallest bird in the world (the smallest is also a hummingbird)
All the Dominican types seem to be similar colourings apart from the male ruby-throated hummingbird which has a ruby throat(what a surprise) _ this is the only one I havent seen yet -Has anyone else spotted one anywhere

This thread is now dead - I searched through photos then wasnt sure if I could use them - probably best to close it

John, Wikipedia says every one of those four pics is in the public domain, therefore free to post. [And it only took me about 2 mins to find that out, so not so hard for you to.] So what's the problem?

I think people were not posting because they were waiting for you to post the next pics, as you had said you would.

Ah, now I see. All four pics of the same bird. Where were others from?

Im not sure about the copyright thing- some people have pictures in their blogs which have come from other sources - so I didnt know which to name etc- all got a bit too confusing for me

Hmm, okay. Well, if you like, you can send me the blog net addresses (links) and I'll check. Possibly I can email them, invite them to post copyright marked versions of the pics on this thread, where they'll get a wide audience. I'm willing to see what I can do to make this work...
