Here is yet another flowering plant that needs identifying. It has little yellow flowers.

Anybody recognize these?
Looks like Aloë Vera to me, but smaller

The image is horrible. The leafs/ stems of the plant are smooth almost like a thick grass. The image looks like they could be an aloe, but it's just a crappy photo.

Default tree identification question

Here are some flowers of a tree. The tree is about 40 feet tall, growing straight and is in bloom right now. The blossoms have a slight fragrance to them, pleasing.
The trunk is not cylindrical but spiny and almost in the shape of a "Y". Anyone know what kind of tree this is?

lol I had to search for this one - but its obvious when you look at the flower i suppose Spathodea campanulata - African Tulip

Trees this is a good source for cultivated tropical trees - I dont know the names of any of the wild trees surrounding us (I need a tree book ...lol)

We have a lot of those in el campo. I will call my cousin this evening to ask her for the name.

Wow, Thanks John your amazing with this. Is growing (and identifying) a hobby for you or are you a botanical graduate? You have an immense knowledge of material, also good research skills!

Thanks Norma Rosa, you too have been of help, I appreciate it.

John I was hoping to find out how to get some seeds from this monster of a tree. Now that I know excatly what it is, I might be able to learn the correct way to germinate them, first step is learning what part of the flower?? to get the seed from. Cuttings are totally out of the question, since the first set of branches is 30 or so feet up. Unless, a branch gets blown off from a hurricane.....

I called my cousin in el campo. She says this plant is called tú y yo
(you and I). The name comes from the fact that each small stem bears two flowers. She says that they are at their best ( blooming) in the month of December, although you might see some flowers in them even in June.
