Nor should you do that.

Patriotism is ingrained in all of us, Pichardo, and I salute you for being what I consider to be a "Patriot".

One should never be an "apologist" for their country.

Recognizing it's shortcomings and commenting factually about those is one thing, but never apologize to the world for them. There are many circumstances under which countries make their policy decisions, and we are never privy to those circumstancies. It's called "Government Secrets".

Hey Keith, wasn't there a blog post or a thread where one of the DR1 forum members broke down the process he went through to go off the grid? I think he lives in Puerto Plata province, near Cabrera or something, but I'm not sure. It's been years since I've read about it, but he stated that he had a pool and a windmill that was professionaly installed. He even included pictures.
