Is this off Juan Dolio on east of Santo Domingo? Carribean Sea tends to have better coral etc than the Atlantic side.

Great Pics Do you have any on the North Coast ?

Underwater pix from recent dives on the south coast. Dark background no good visibility these days.

Butterflyfish

King Crab

Scorpionfish - this guy just pulled over and landed on a Barrel Sponge. Ugly and poisonous.

...............................Here's some friendlier stuff.
...............................

...............................Deepwater Seafan - can't get rid of the backscatter (the white spots in the background).

Closeup of a Brain Coral

Feather Dusters - these live 25 m below the surface.

Thanks, Thor. I never tire of such pics. I wish I was certified to make such dives; I would love to. My son is, and he's contemplating diving in the DR when we come down next month.

great pics!!! One of my favorite snorkeling days was when i was out on a reef. I am checking out this "rock" and then it blinked at me!!! lordy...it scared the bejesuz out of me!!!

I have been trying to find this spot in guyacannes for ages...as i am usually in boca chica and the snorkeling there is pretty bad as the reef is pretty much dead and guyacannes is just down the road.

Shoot me a pm if you could with directions. Tho lord only knows when i can afford to travel back :-(
