Late last year I planted 100 Acai seeds, about 80% sprouted and are growing well, they are now about a 10"-18" high.
Bugs dont seem to bother them, and they seem to hold up to heavy rains ( no rotting issues )
I still have them in the seeding bed, I need to get them transplanted into pots fast. now that I think about it, this sounds like a good weekend project
I have not seen them for sale ( plants, seed or frozen pulp ) anywhere in the DR. ( thats why I decided to plant my own ) I even got the commercial "Para Dwarf" variety which is supposed to have berries with 30% more pulp, and lower growing for easier harvest.
