If someone breaks into your home, you need to protect yourself.
Been here 15 yrs and am starting to feel the need for a home protection weapon. Machetes and bats wont cut it in a real emergency. I'd even be happy with a .22 -.25..... lol

Would you say that depend on where you live? like, let say in a rural area, outside out city borders(2~3km), on a farmland, would you says there's a need of a "protection"?

In a country where the police cannot protect you, you must fend for yourself. You might live a 100 yrs and never have the situation come up where a firearm is needed but i'd rather be protected and not need it than need it and not be protected.

True. However, you should also NEVER own a firearm unless you are 100% positive and committed to using it to protect yourself. That is a pretty tall order and simply plinking at targets or owning a fancy firearm means nothing unless you can and will use it.
If you are not prepared to use deadly force to protect yourself or others you should not own a firearm. Otherwise someone will take it away from you and they WILL use it...on you!

Why do you assume that someone here will not use deadly force with a firearm in a self defense situation? Are you talking about your own personal limitation or experience?

Haven't been in that situation? Then you have no idea.
If one is to have a firearm, they need to maintain it, be proficient with it and whenever it is in their possession have the mental attitude to use it with proper discretion.
It is an awesome responsibility.

No, DOC1727, I'm simply telling the lurkers who may be reading this as I assume those who are contributing have the neurons necessary to already know it. It's amazing to me, as an American with the constitutional right to own a firearm, how many people do own them (here and in the US) who are absolutely, totally and frighteningly clueless about using them in a stressful, life threatening situation.
It's amazing to me, that's all, and I hope to help open the eyes of anyone who believes simply owning one is "enough". It's not friggin' furniture, ya know?
