I'm invited to a gringo wedding and would love to buy them a Dominican gift. Any ideas?

I often give a gift of the hand painted placemats and a matching tray
there are also GREAT wooden salad sets, with beautiful individual bowls.
both can be found at the Mercado Modelo

Do not, under any circumstances, give them a tarantula under glass in a frame! It does not seem to go over very well.

There are beautiful Dominican "things" at the gift shop at Centro Leon in Santiago.
A set of coffee cups is always nice. A lot depends on how close you are to the Bride and Groom...and what class of society they are. Some might not appreciate a fine set of collectable plates or a good painting....and would really appreciate that bag of rice.
