Five businesses in Boca Chica shut down
The Attorney General of the Dominican Republic closed five places of entertainment along Duarte Street in Boca Chica, where besides the owners, 50 girls in the company of foreigners, some of whom were in the country illegally.
The action,by the Attorney General, according to the Hoy newspaper, was taken againsthe businesses located in the so-called "Sodom and Gomorrah" area of Boca Chica. The following businesses were closed: El Gibi, Dominican Suisa, Ruta 66 and the La Criolla restaurant."Promoting Tourist Prostitution" was the alleged reason for the closures.
The operation was headed by the assistant AG Frank Sosa in answer to complaints from residents of Boca Chica regarding the scandalous activities going on at the locations at all hours of the day and night, as well as the prostitution.
The AG press notice also said that the two Swiss women were taken for investigation since they were in the country illegally, one working as a waitress, and the other as a cashier. They worked at a place managed by Manuela Medina Tejada.
