Reading recent news clips about the Higuey prison fire that killed nearly 140 people, I noticed that two accomplices of former Puerto Rican Univision reporter, Laura Hernandez died in the blaze.

But, what ever happened to Laura Hernandez who got caught with 70 kilos of cocaine in her SUV, as she was pulled over by the National Drug Council Police leaving Bavaro back in 2002?

Did she beat a Dominican prison rap? Or did she bribe prison officials to get a luxury cell in another prison? Just curious if Ms. Hernandez got off scott free, while others that were in her SUV the day she got caught, were sent off to hellish prisons.

she and her cokehead husband still locked down. Although rumor has it that everyday they get to order and eat food from the free world and not Dominican jail's a la carte. Also, I think they got caught in the yatch that they were using to smuggle the dope enroute to Puerto Rico. They all got slapped on the wrist. Don't think so? try and get caught with all that dope in the US to see how many years the judge is going to slam the whole crew with and compare with the sentences they got from DR judges... :rambo: :knockedou

I remember the case. To how many years were they sentenced?

She got 7 years, not sure about the husband. I believe she is appealing. She is in La Romana jail.
