Default Golfers -How do you do it??

I have only played golf in the DR 2 or 3 times in POP in Jan.
Yesterday I played my regular game here in NY with the temps at 100 degrees. My partner asked me if I was bringing my clubs to SD next month.
Got me thinking about how I can barely get thru one day during the summer in SD without changing my shirt 3X!
So..how do you get thru the summer humidity and heat ? Play very early? Twilight hours? Not at all? Cooler in the north than SD? Just curious.

JOHN

We have a special system packed on to the carts that takes all the perspiration, extracts the salt content (for lunchtime salads), turns the water content into ice cubes & then blows conditioned air over the ice & into us in the cart!! In the case of DRTampa, an additional filter is put in to recycle the ALCOHOL content which is then used to produce a modified & much stronger version of Presidente - marketing of this enhanced product may well follow at some stage!! ~ Grahame.

Sure beats Presidente Light. Note that I said Light and not "LITE' which is a trademark of the Miller Brewing Company, one of my former employers who will help finance my future move to Jarabacoa. Then golfing at the club there, perspiring in the summer heat and the cycle begins again.

Talking 2-way radios

I'm not sure this would fly at Playa Grande or Teeth of the Mutt, but at the "Green Monster" (La Isabella, just north of Arroyo Hondo II) I would bring 2 two-way radios with me and leave one with the clubhouse.

Whenever we needed a screaming cold Presidente, we'd just order up over the radio. You could here the motoconcho barreling over the course, so you could time the ending of one, to the breathtaking wonderfulness of another nicely frosted reinforcement.

If you combine that with shade, and a slow pace, we'd manage 3-4 rounds a week at the height of the day. The crowd is minimal - usually other ex pats who are dumb enough to go out during that time.

Water may be substituted for the beer, but not recommended.

Come to think of it why am I asking the question when I played twice this week with temps at 95 with a heat index yesterday of 104?
Not for wimps or sane people I guess.

For anyone in the Tampa Bay area, that would like to play.... copperhead or old Memorial let me know.

I can definitely get you a discount at copperhead and also have a way in to old Memorial which is really the secret of golf in Tampa Bay.

Default Dye Fore

At the prices I pay to play the Dye Fore you would think they would provide a couple of chicas with big palm fans.
