Has anyone used or heard anything about SkyMax Dominicana I was told for less than $500 pesos a month you can make unlimited calls from DR to U.S. My wife just moved to U.S. from DR in December 2008 and I am looking for a cheap way for her to keep in touch with her mother(who does not have a computer) .

Just to be clear, this is not a computer iphone? does it also work for local calls within the DR? and calling local cell numbers.

Only works when calling outside the country. US, Europe. The plan one of my aunts has allows you to call only 10 numbers anytime you want. Just 10 numbers though.

No other gimmick invloved? No other hidden fees? So if I had my mother-in-law sign up for his plan and she added my home phone number. She would be able to call me anytime for a flat rate. Can the 10 numbers change or be added on later?

Is this through a computer on the internet/IP like skype or with a device like magicjack, or something different entirely?

OK...just went back and checked out the website....appears to be a calling card you use with your regular phone?

This is from a land line and can only be done via a land line. You sign up, they give you the local access number with a pin. Then you program the 10 numbers. The 10 numbers if I'm not mistaken can be changed only on a monthly basis. You can call any time, any day. No hidden fees. She pays $300 pesos a month.

When I want to talk to my family I place a brief call and ask them to call me back.
