Default Cuarta Via

While in Santiago I have heard about Eduardo Estrella, the leader of the "Cuarta Via". Anyone enlighten us with info on him.

He was previously a member of the PRSC (reformista) and "lost" the nomination for that party to Amable Aristy Castro in their primary contest. He served as Secretary of Public Works during one of Balaguer's terms as president. His strongest backing is in the cibao region, as his family is originally from Canabacoa, Santiago, and he still resides in Santiago.

He left the PRSC after losing the nomination and went on to join Hatuey DeCamps and the PRSD. It's a shame, but he doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of winning the presidency.

Thanks for info. Now my question is how much of a fourth way is his party when he seems to be part of the same old establishment.

He comes across as sincere and decent, but dull.

Well, Estrella has been part of the old establishment; however, he speaks of being different, and given the fact that he has held some public positions without the typical DR corruption scandals, he may very well be different than let's say, Leonel, Amable, and Vargas Maldonado.
