I think here at least they do ask questions first. They do lose a lot of police here too was reading something about the number for Jan - March its about 20 something so far this year.

To me that guy is just plain stupid, why would he compromise his position that way? there are many ways to get your point across without being so direct, I guess he needs some training from our suave Dominican politicians.

The criminality in the Dominican Republic is but a symptom of the political corruption that tragically is a reality in the country. There is not a day that goes by without news detailing reports about special favors for some politician, outright theft of public funds, police officers on the take or a humble neighborhood bulldozed to make way for a hotel chain that probably lined the pockets of some local politicos.

This kind of behavior trickles down to the rest of society and what are we to expect, model citizens? Without transparency in the Dominican society we are doomed to the barbarian mentality....and to some extent we are there.
